Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Children: How many staff at ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible have been made redundant, broken down by (a) voluntary redundancy, and (b) all other forms of redundancy, and of those staff, how many have subsequently been appointed to a new role at at the same ministry, agency or department, if any, since 27 November 2023?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that 252 employees have been made redundant since 27 November 2023. Of the 252 employees: • 95 staff left by reason of voluntary redundancy • 157 staff left by reason of redundancy. I am further advised that 11 employees have been subsequently rehired. Six remain employed with Oranga Tamariki.
