Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Children: How many staff were appointed to a role that had the same or substantially similar responsibilities to the position from which they were made redundant, of those made redundant at ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that five employees were appointed to a role that had the same or substantially similar responsibilities to the position from which they were made redundant. In all instances, they were appointed to fixed term positions to complete a critical piece of work post their redundancy effective date.
