Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Transport: How many staff who received a redundancy since 27 November 2023 and were subsequently reappointed to a new role in any of the ministries, agencies, and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible had a total remuneration package in the new role that was higher than their previous position, if any?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that the Ministry has not reappointed any employees who were made redundant since 27 November 2023. Where an employee is appointed at another agency following receiving redundancy, the Ministry does not hold information about their subsequent employment. I am advised that NZTA has not reappointed any staff members who have received redundancy between 27 November 2023 and 4 March 2025. NZTA has no visibility over appointments made in other agencies or departments.
