Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Statistics: How many staff who received a redundancy since 27 November 2023 and were subsequently reappointed to a new role in any of the ministries, agencies, and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible had a total remuneration package in the new role that was higher than their previous position, if any?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that, since 27 November 2023, one employee who accepted voluntary redundancy and was subsequently reappointed to a new role at Stats NZ had a total remuneration package in the new role that was slightly higher than their previous position. This renumeration increase was due to changes in salary bands across the organisation for the 2024/25 financial year.
