Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: What financial modelling, if any, have the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies undertaken to measure the total cost of redundancies (voluntary or not), if any, resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: No decisions have been taken by MFAT to disestablish any roles as a result of the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure, and no estimate of the cost of redundancy has been completed. As part of its financial planning, MFAT has assessed its contractual obligations in respect to exit payments.
