7902 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: How many staff currently employed in the ministries, agencies, and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible have previously received a redundancy payout since 27 November 2023, and how many of these staff are employed in the same or similar roles to their previous roles?

Hon Simeon Brown: Our Government is focused on delivering timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. I am advised that the Ministry employed one staff member, and Health New Zealand employed 13 staff members. The Ministry staff member was appointed to a five month fixed term role in a different group and functional area, with substantially different duties and responsibilities from the role they were made redundant from. I am further advised that Health NZ does not currently hold the requested information regarding same or similar roles in an easily reportable format.
