Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Transport: What process, if any, was employed by the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies to brief the Minister on any savings and their impact on services and functions, as a result of the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service?

Hon Simeon Brown: As is normal practice, the Ministry of Transport leads the provision of advice to the Minister of Transport on transport Budget matters, including baseline savings. As part of its role, the Ministry coorindates advice and input from transport Crown entities as appropriate. All advice relating to baseline savings remains under active consideration pending Budget decisions.
