Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Revenue: What process, if any, was employed by the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies to brief the Minister on any savings and their impact on services and functions, as a result of the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service?

Hon Simon Watts: As part of Budget 2024 guidance, I was advised of the Initial Baseline Exercise process shortly after it was announced on 20 December 2023. I also signed off Inland Revenue’s baseline savings proposal.
