Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Māori Crown Relations: Te Arawhiti: What process, if any, was employed by the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies to brief the Minister on any savings and their impact on services and functions, as a result of the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service?

Hon Tama Potaka: It is my expectation to be updated about significant implications with my portfolio responsibility as Minister. However, agencies’ cost-savings plans are the responsibility of the Chief Executive and are subject to Budget decisions which remain confidential until final decisions are approved by Cabinet.
