7810 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Housing: Have any of the ministries, agencies, and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible set budgetary provisions or caps for redundancy payments since 27 November 2023; if so, what were those provisions?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development’s redundancy payments were baseline funded. Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities advises me that in 2023/24 it made a provision for redundancies of $6.135m. No provision has yet been finalised for the 2024/25 financial year, as this will be finalised as further reductions to FTE through its Reset, Resize, Renew project is confirmed.
