7768 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Defence: How many staff currently employed in the ministries, agencies, and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible have previously received a redundancy payout since 27 November 2023, and how many of these staff are employed in the same or similar roles to their previous roles?

Hon Judith Collins: I am advised that for the New Zealand Defence Force, 154 individuals have received a redundancy payment since 27 November 2023. None were re-appointed to roles within the New Zealand Defence Force. For the Ministry of Defence, no redundancies have occurred in this period.
