7756 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Corrections: How many staff who received a redundancy since 27 November 2023 and were subsequently reappointed to a new role in any of the ministries, agencies, and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible had a total remuneration package in the new role that was higher than their previous position, if any?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Corrections considers a person to be made redundant if a staff member’s employment is ultimately terminated and they are paid severance, following the disestablishment of their position. I am further advised that redundancy only occurs where there is no suitable reassignment or redeployment opportunity for the affected staff member within Corrections. I am further advised that there have been four redundancies at Corrections during this timeframe. I am also advised that since 27 November 2023, no staff that have received redundancy at Corrections have been re-employed at Corrections. This is also my response to WPQ 7757 (2025), WPQ 7758 (2025), WPQ 7964 (2025), WPQ 7976 (2025), WPQ 7962 (2025) and WPQ 7961 (2025).
