Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Conservation: How many staff currently employed in the ministries, agencies, and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible have previously received a redundancy payout since 27 November 2023, and how many of these staff are employed in the same or similar roles to their previous roles?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised by the Department of Conservation that 47 staff have received a redundancy payment since 27 November 2023 and two staff have been re-employed on fixed term employment agreements in positions that are similar to their previous roles. However, the new roles are in a different region to their previous role – they have not been re-employed to do the same job in the same place.
