Written Question
Published date: 08 May 2024
7680 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies for which savings have been identified, are any roles set to be disestablished resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, if so, what percentage of employees who are set to lose their roles are located in the West Coast Region, if any?
Hon Louise Upston: The Ministry of Social Development has not identified any roles at this stage for disestablishment. The Ministry has recently announced that they are working through targeted change processes which can be found at the following link: www.msd.govt.nz/about-msd-and-our-work/newsroom/2024/voluntary-redundancies-confirmed.html.
I am advised that the Independent Children's Monitor (Aroturuki Tamariki) is unable to provide a response to these questions at this time as they relate to the Budget 2024 process which is considered budget sensitive.
This is also my response to written parliamentary questions 7685 (2024), 7686 (2024), 7687 (2024), 7689 (2024), 7820 (2024), 7828 (2024), 7832 (2024) 7833 (2024), 7874 (2024), 7966 (2024), 7977 (2024), 7978 (2024), 8044 (2024), 8110 (2024), 8119 (2024), 8127 (2024), 8128 (2024), 8188 (2024) and 8241 (2024).
