7677 (2026). Lan Pham to the Minister of Statistics: Does Statistics New Zealand keep data on the impact of weather events on CPI?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised by Stats NZ that although it publishes the Consumers Price Index (CPI) and co-produce New Zealand’s official environmental reporting, it does not produce any dataset that links specific weather events to price movements for specific items within the CPI.
