7628 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister responsible for Ministerial Services: When, if ever, was the Minister informed of the withdrawal of MPI staff from Minister Patterson's office?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: As Minister Responsible for Ministerial Services, I am not involved in any individual employment matters. Employment issues involving individuals working in Ministerial offices are directly managed by Ministerial Services at the Department of Internal Affairs. Officials from Ministerial Services meet with my Chief of Staff on a weekly basis to discuss operational matters - including the staffing and resourcing of Ministerial offices. My Chief of Staff advises me of matters where appropriate. As is normal in any workplace, sometimes concerns and issues are raised. Ministerial Services has robust processes established so they can address issues appropriately if and when they arise, and ensure staff are well supported. I was informed of this matter by my Chief of Staff on 21 February 2025.
