7619 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: How, if at all, do the ministries, agencies and departments for which the Minister is responsible, define ‘frontline’ staff and ‘back-office’ staff?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade does not formally define its workforce as frontline or back office. The Ministry consists of diplomatic staff and a range of non-diplomatic staff supporting the organisation in specialist areas such as trade, development & aid, international law and climate as well as corporate enablement teams.
