Hon Melissa Lee: I am advised that there is no definition of frontline and back-office. However, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment reports annually to Te Kawa Mataaho on public sector occupational trends: Workforce data - Public sector composition - www.publicservice.govt.nz/research-and-data/workforce-data-public-sector-composition. New Zealand Trade and Enterprise defines customer-facing positions as those that involve direct interaction with customers or are in the public eye.
