7587 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Defence: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies for which savings have been identified, are any roles set to be disestablished resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, if so, what percentage of employees who are set to lose their roles are located in the Otago Region, if any?

Hon Judith Collins: New Zealand Defence Force decisions are yet to be finalised and are subject to staff consultation. These decisions will be finalised after final Cabinet decisions on Budget 2024, which will be publicly released on 30 May 2024. The Ministry of Defence has no staff based in this region.
