7586 (2025). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister for Infrastructure: What, if any, timelines are being considered to ensure that the National Infrastructure Pipeline meets the needs of the market and delivers on its promised projects in a timely manner?
Hon Chris Bishop: The National Infrastructure Pipeline provides a central view of infrastructure project activity that is in planning and delivery across New Zealand. Insights from the Pipeline provide the industry with information to help coordinate, prioritise, schedule, and plan their projects and investments. Information in the Pipeline is provided by central government, local government and private sector organisations involved in providing infrastructure services and reflects the current state of their infrastructure planning and investment intentions.
The Pipeline is an information tool and provides the construction market with transparency of projects as they progress through planning, investment processes, and delivery. Contributors are responsible for their project timelines and project status and indicate these through their submissions to the Pipeline.
