7568 (2025). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Justice: Did the Cabinet Paper confirming the amendments to the Crime Act, as announced on February 26 2025 include Departmental Comments; if so, from which agencies and were these comments in support or opposition to the proposals?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: Yes. Comments were included from Police, Oranga Tamariki, the Ministry of Disabled People, Crown Law, the Ministry for Ethnic Communities, the Ministry for Pacific Peoples, and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. The comments expressed a range of views.
