Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Justice: Were the proposals from the Ministerial Advisory Group for victims of retail crime relating to amending the Crimes Act provisions allowing for citizens’ arrests supported unanimously by the members of the group; and if not, how many did not support the proposals?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that one member of the Ministerial Advisory Group for Victims of Retail Crime did not support the proposals presented to me relating to the amendments to arrest and defence of property provisions in the Crimes Act 1961.
