7542 (2025). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister for Disability Issues
Written Question

7542 (2025). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister for Disability Issues: What are, if any, the criteria to qualify for a NASC (Needs Assessment Service Co-ordination) budget through Disability Support Services?
Hon Louise Upston: There are several steps that Needs Assessment and Service Coordination (NASC) organisations go through when deciding what package of support they will allocate to a disabled person.
First, a person must be found to be eligible for disability support services. I refer the member to written parliamentary question 7540 (2025), which provides a summary of the eligibility criteria and a link to where further information can be found.
Second, the person must be assessed by a Needs Assessor as having unmet disability support needs.
Third, a Service Coordinator assists a disabled person to develop a package of support for meeting their needs, which might also extend to supports provided by other government agencies.
