7533 (2025). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister for Trade and Investment: Is the Paris Agreement an essential element of the NZ-EU Free Trade Agreement?

Hon Todd McClay: I am advised that ‘essential element’ is not a term used in the NZ EU FTA in relation to climate change or the Paris agreement. It is however used in relation to other provisions in the agreement.
