7530 (2026). Reuben Davidson to the Minister of Police: Did he contact any member of the Television New Zealand Board between 23 February 2026 and 3 March 2026, regarding 1 News’ reporting on Thursday 26 February 2026?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I have not, nor has anyone on my behalf, contacted any member of the TVNZ board in any capacity. As you would expect, my office talks regularly with the offices of other Ministers and Prime Ministers. In this case, discussions with Minister Goldsmith and his office related to his Justice portfolio. The nature of these discussions surrounded and is ultimately reflected in my Facebook post of 26 February. The identity of the "senior, high profile TVNZ manager" has, I understand, already been publicly reported, as has the nature of that discussion.
