7475 (2024). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister responsible for RMA Reform: Does he stand by his statement to RNZ “… if a project has permits and conditions proposed on it that are too onerous then ministers are able to have a look at that and judge whether or not those conditions are too onerous and send it back to the panel for further consideration”, and if so, based on what criteria or advice provided to the Minister’s office to date could permits and conditions be considered too onerous?
Hon Chris Bishop: I stand by all my comments in the context in which they were made. To date, officials have not provided me with advice on what might constitute a "too onerous" condition.
