7469 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: What action, if any, has he taken to progress his priority to grow timely access to suicide prevention support?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that Health New Zealand has increased its investment in Kia Piki Te Ora Kaupapa Māori Suicide Prevention Services from $1.6 million in 2021/22 to $4.3 million in 2023/24. This investment has allowed the Kia Piki te Ora collective to grow from nine providers to 23 providers delivering services in 24 communities to achieve national coverage.
