7394 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: What changes and/or increases to funding, if any, will be made to School Transport Assistance?

Hon Erica Stanford: Ministry of Education (the Ministry) funded school transport assistance is provided through the administration of an appropriation from Vote Education. The cost is set through contract rates that are regularly updated using a Global Rate Adjustment, to reflect movements in transport costs such as labour costs, diesel prices and road user charges. The Ministry is funded to provide services through an appropriation based on our current eligibility criteria. Funding fluctuates due to cost and demand.
