7369 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Further to 4480 (2025), what are the lessons learned from the ongoing evaluation of the pilot that are being considered in the preliminary design options?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that they are considering all learnings from the interim evaluation, which examined the assessment and residence stages of the Military-Style Academy Pilot, for potential preliminary design options for future Military-style academies. I am further advised that these learnings include earlier engagement with stakeholders, clearer roles and responsibilities for staff, and sufficient resourcing to manage workloads.
