Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister of Education: On average, how many students travel on each of the following school bus routes: D060104, D060105, D060106, D060107, D060108, D060109, D060111, D060114, D060115, D060116, D060117, D060118, D060119, D060120, D060122, and D060124; and, if any of these routes have been cancelled, merged or redesigned, what alternative arrangements, if any, has the Minister put in place to ensure that affected students are able to travel to and from school?

Hon Erica Stanford: I refer the Member to the attached table showing the average patronage for the Gisborne area school bus routes as of February 2025. As per my response to written parliamentary questions 7325 (2026), I have agreed with the Ministry’s advice to pause the implementation of the Term 2, 2026 changes to its Gisborne school bus services.
