Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister of Education: How long did it take for the Minister/ Ministry to respond to principals’ requests in Gisborne to extend the proposed bus route changes to 2027 to "allow time to work with our communities on solutions that make better sense locally'" and what was the rationale for the response provided?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) that the request from principals in Gisborne to extend the proposed bus route changes was received on 17 February 2026. The Ministry responded on 23 February 2026 as this is an operational matter.
