7308 (2026). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: How has the 61M funding announced in November 2025 for crisis response workers and services been allocated; to what services and when?
Hon Matt Doocey: The $61.6 million investment to deliver a better crisis response that I announced on 5 November 2025 has been allocated as follows:
- $7.1 million per annum from 2025/26 for crisis assessment teams, providing 40 additional frontline clinical staff for crisis assessment and treatment teams nationwide.
- $4.8 million per annum from 2025/26 for peer-led acute alternatives, enabling establishment of two new 10-bed peer-led acute alternative services.
- $1.5 million per annum from 2025/26 for peer support in emergency departments, enabling three more EDs to receive peer support workers, on top of the eight sites already launched.
- $2.0 million per annum from 2025/26 for Crisis Recovery Cafés, enabling two new cafés to be established, bringing the total to eight across the country.
