7305 (2026). Ingrid Leary to the Associate Minister of Health: What Health New Zealand service delivery pathways are there for people living with young/early onset dementia?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that service delivery pathways and availability of services depend on where the person resides. Some examples include diagnosis through a general practitioner, using the cognitive impairment health pathways; access to services such as carer support; post diagnostic support and navigation; home and community support and aged residential care through the local Needs Assessment Service Coordination service, and access to information, support, and community-based programmes provided by dementia NGOs, which offer resources, fact sheets, and guidance for people living with dementia.
