7272 (2024). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Housing: How many community housing developments, if any, are paused or on hold due to the uncertainty over future income-related rent subsidy funding past June 2025?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has a number of Community Housing Provider (CHP) applications for Income Related Rent Subsidy funded social housing developments under active consideration, as is standard practice. I am further advised that no approved CHP social housing developments in delivery have been halted. Funding for new social housing developments to be delivered after the current Public Housing Plan to June 2025 ends, including for some that are under active consideration, will be a matter for the Government to consider in due course.
