7268 (2024). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Housing: What is the expected uptake, if any, of the proposed pet bonds?
Hon Chris Bishop: I have not received advice on the expected uptake of pet bonds. However, it’s estimated that around 64 per cent of New Zealand households own at least one pet, and 59 per cent of people who don’t have a pet would like to get one. This change will support these New Zealanders that rent to have a pet in their rental home.
