7267 (2024). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Housing: How many, if any, rental properties does the Minister expect to enter the market that otherwise would not have due to the changes to the Residential Tenancies Act announced on 11 April 2024?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has advised that recently announced changes to the Residential Tenancies Act 1986 could increase rental supply at the margins. I have not received advice on the number of rental properties that could be added to the market as a result of the changes.
