7238 (2024). Shanan Halbert to the Minister of Transport: What advice, if any, has the Minister received regarding the cost impact that repealing the Auckland regional fuel tax may have on public transport service levels across the Auckland region, by date and title?

Hon Simeon Brown: I have not received any specific advice on the impact of repealing the Auckland Regional Fuel tax on public transport service levels. I have been advised that revenue from the Auckland Regional Fuel Tax was being spent on slowing down Aucklanders including those traveling on public transport through speed limit reductions and speed bumps.
