7225 (2024). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Is one of the statements that the Minister agrees with from then-Opposition Transport Spokesperson Simeon Brown when he said in the NZ Herald that he supports “a rail spur from Puhinui to the airport” and, if so, what advice reports, briefings, aide memoires, or any other documents has the Minister, or any member of their Office received or commissioned on such a spur, if any?

Hon Simeon Brown: I refer the Member to page 15 of the draft Government Policy Statement on land transport 2024, which states that the Government will continue to invest in rail to support the overall objective of economic growth and productivity while also ensuring that this investment delivers value for money to taxpayers. Investment decisions will be made in due course.
