7188 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Does the Minister support increasing Fair Trading Act penalties for misleading pricing?

Hon Scott Simpson: I have not yet received advice on penalties for misleading pricing under the Fair Trading Act. However, I am aware of the issue and am considering whether to include a review of the Fair Trading Act on MBIE’s future work programme. The scope of any review will be decided by Cabinet.
