7187 (2025). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Police: How many, if any, dispersal notices have the Police issued to gang gatherings since the legislation came into force November 2024?

Hon Mark Mitchell: None. Please note that Police has seen generally high levels of compliance with the Gangs Act 2024. In situations where gang members are being disruptive to the public, but not necessarily committing an offence, Police will generally warn those individuals to cease / disperse voluntarily or face being subject to a dispersal notice, which would be in place for 7 days. To this point the issuance of a dispersal notice has not been required and none have been recorded.
