7182 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Minister of Police: What Police districts, if any, are currently referring, or have in the past 12 calendar months been referring, individuals to the 'Man Up' programme, listed by district and number of referrals?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that only one Police district has been identified as having made referrals to the programmes, following on from family harm-related events. In Tasman, four referrals were made in the 2023/24 financial year, and a further nine have been made to date. The referrals, both to Legacy and Man Up, were made through AWHI, a tikanga-based voluntary referral system used as a prevention tool to connect a person needing help with an appropriate service provider in their community. Both providers have now been deactivated on the AWHI system so that no further referrals can be made.
