7143 (2025). Tamatha Paul to the Minister for Children: What briefings or advice has the Minister received, if any, on extending the time participants spend in the government's boot camp residential facilities by title and date?

Hon Karen Chhour: I refer the Member to my answer to WPQ 6349 (2025). I have not received specific briefings or advice on this matter, however reference to the length of a Military-style academy order, which would be a new sentencing response available to the Youth Court as outlined in the Oranga Tamariki (Responding to Serious Youth Offending) Amendment Bill, is included in some of these briefings.
