7111 (2026). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Associate Minister of Education: Why was the Ministry of Education's job listing for a Director of Regulation for Early Childhood Education regulatory reform not advertised for 2 weeks, which, according to the Ministry, happens more often than the 5 working day minimum?

Hon David Seymour: The Director of Regulation position was established following amendments to the Education and Training Act. The Ministry of Education (the Ministry) advertised the role as a six month fixed term appointment, with the vacancy posted for five working days in accordance with the Ministry’s recruitment policy. This is also my response to written parliamentary questions 7112 and 7113 (2026).
