Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Do his officials monitor the performance of registered community housing providers, including consistency with a goal of delivering better outcomes for tenants, if so, what does this monitoring show about community housing providers Trust House, Accessible Properties and Tamaki Housing?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that the Community Housing Regulatory Authority (CHRA) is responsible for monitoring all registered community housing providers (CHPs) annually against the prescribed performance standards to provide assurance to the Government that tenants are appropriately housed and registered CHPs are well governed. Each CHP is required to provide information demonstrating they continue to meet the performance standards in order to maintain their CHP registration. Trust House, Accessible Properties and Tāmaki Housing Association have satisfied all regulatory requirements since their registration, including those under the tenancy management performance standard. CHRA does not specifically monitor tenant outcomes.
