7077 (2024). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: What reports, if any, does the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development hold that show how Tamaki Housing has performed as a tenancy manager over the last 10 years, including consistency with a goal of delivering better outcomes for tenants and what do these reports show?
Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that the Community Housing Regulatory Authority (CHRA) assesses each registered community housing provider (CHP) against a set of prescribed performance standards and produces an annual assessment report, either confirming the CHP’s compliance with the standards or setting out additional requirements which need to be met. Tāmaki Housing Association became a registered CHP in 2017 and has satisfied all requirements to maintain their registration to date. CHRA does not specifically monitor tenant outcomes. In addition, the Tāmaki Redevelopment Company (TRC) group publishes annual reports which include reporting against the performance indicators set out in its Statement of Intent and Statement of Performance Expectations (SPE), including targets relating to tenancy management. These reports are published on the TRC website: https://tamakiregeneration.co.nz/. I am advised that the annual reports indicate that in the time it has existed, Tāmaki Housing Association has largely met or exceeded its tenancy management targets.
