7069 (2024). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Does he expect rents to fall over the next three year as a result of the implementation of his housing policies and if so, by how much?

Hon Chris Bishop: The changes we are making will make it easier for landlords to be part of the rental property market, reducing barriers to the supply of rental properties and applying downward pressure to rents. I am advised that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is unable to quantify any potential impact on rent prices over the next three years.
