7062 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Space: Why has the handover of the control of the MethaneSAT mission from Rocket Lab to Auckland University not occurred as expected?

Hon Judith Collins: Handover of the mission operations control centre (MOCC) to the University of Auckland’s Te Pūnaha Ātea - Space Institute from Rocket Lab was scheduled for 6 March 2025 (NZT), being one year after launch. The MOCC has been temporarily transferred to Blue Canyon Technologies (BCT) which built the satellite, to enable BCT to address challenges which are affecting the satellite’s operation.
