7032 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Transport: What asset valuations, if any, have been requested by the Minister or their department, if any, since 27 November 2023, and on what dates, if any?

Hon Chris Bishop: As the Minister of Transport, I have not requested any asset valuations since 27 November 2023. I am advised that the Ministry of Transport has not requested any asset valuations since November 2023. However, the Ministry commissioned research into methods to establish Local Roads Asset Valuation in September 2024. The Ministry's provider might have contacted councils to request information related to asset valuations between October 2024 and February 2025. I am advised that as part of the NZTA annual report process, NZTA engages a valuer on an annual basis to value the State Highway network and portfolio of properties held for State Highway purposes. Since 27 November 2023, NZTA has requested two valuations - the State Highway network and held properties valuation as at 31 December 2023 and 31 December 2024.
