6995 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Statistics: What New Zealanders' data, if any, is shared by the Minister's department, if any, with any US government department?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Stats NZ does not share personal information or data on any individual New Zealander or business with any United States government department. A large amount of Stats NZ information is publicly available on their website. Stats NZ has responded to queries for industry data from United States government departments and provides quarterly labour market statistics to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics. In these cases, information is aggregated to a level of detail that protects the confidentiality of individuals’ data.
