6978 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (October - December 2023) in implementing the objective ‘improve access to treatment’ under ‘Pillar 1: Policy Change’ within the National Alcohol Harm Minimisation Framework 2022?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that Health New Zealand does not report against this framework but work has progressed to minimise alcohol harm. I am further advised that in December 2023, Health New Zealand developed ‘Alcohol Early Detection and Intervention: Guidance for Professionals’. This tool will be published, and associated training on its use offered, in the next financial year.
